Gioia Osthoff

Osthoff was born in the Black Forest, but when she was just seven years old her family moved to Ecuador. Spanish became her second native language, and salsa dancing became her favorite pastime. She learned to play the guitar at an early age and discovered her passion for composing and singing her own songs.

She received her acting training in Vienna and was a member of the ensemble at the Theater in der Josefstadt for five years. She also performed at Theater Freiburg. In the summer of 2022, she stepped away from theatre entirely for a while and spent a year traveling the world. After returning to Munich, she first worked as a voice actress until the Bad Hersfeld Festival brought her back to the stage. The special reward: for her performance as Polly in The Threepenny Opera, Osthoff won the Hersfeld Prize in 2024.
